Settings

The footer item below the main navigation groups: a few in-memory preferences, your CloudSergeant subscription, the activity log folder, and version information.

Preferences

  • Dark mode — switches the app between the light and dark Fluent theme. CloudSergeant's own accent blue stays the same in both; only the background follows the switch.
  • Collapse other menu groups — opening one group in the left-hand navigation closes whichever other group was open, so only one is expanded at a time.
  • Cache refresh interval — how long the Users, Groups, Devices, Roles and Licenses lists sit on screen before CloudSergeant quietly re-reads them behind you, from 15 to 60 minutes. See Users for what "quietly" means in practice — your place in the list is never disturbed.

All three take effect immediately, for the rest of the session — no restart needed.

CloudSergeant subscription

Shows the plan your organisation holds, when it expires, and when that was last checked. Check licence status asks the licence service again right away, rather than waiting for the app's own daily check. The second button reads Register or Manage subscription, depending on whether your organisation has registered yet, and opens the same /account page a browser would.

This is your organisation's CloudSergeant licence — what lets the app run at all, and whether delegated administration is included. It is not the same thing as Tenant ▸ Licenses, which is the customer tenant's own Microsoft 365 subscriptions. See Licences & offline use for the plans, states, and how long the app keeps working without a network.

Activity log

States what the log records — sign-ins, every change made to the tenant, every tool run, and the full technical detail of any error, with a fixed retention period after which older files are deleted — and what it deliberately never records: passwords, BitLocker recovery keys, and mail or message content. The card shows the log folder's path, how many files are in it and when one was last written, and an Open log folder button. See The activity log on the documentation overview for the full detail of what is and isn't written.

About

The installed version number — the same value the app sends when it checks for an update, so the two can never disagree — and a Go to website button.
